l67 camaro

Hey guys, just joined this forum, but I've been floating around others for years. I'm posting up my l67 camaro build. So far in early stages and its gonna take a long time, but so far the plans are this, I've got a stock l26 bottom end with 68 k on it, and putting top end from l67 on it, porting and polishing the blower, intake, and heads. Will have 105 springs, xp cam, (maybe hardened pushrods?), single roller, meth injection, 42 injectors, 255 lph fuel pump, tune of course, and smaller pulley (not sure of what size to go yet). The goals are 350-400 whp so I guess I'm setting my hopes pretty high. Right now my mods are full exhaust w/headers, vogtland springs, stagg shocks, tubular trailing arms, tubular adjustable panhard bar, 32mm front and 23mm rear sway bars, poly bushings on all susp. Parts. Right now I'm in the process of rebuilding the m90, but here's the donor motor and blower. Still need quite a few parts but I'm still collecting so I'll get there soon enough. I don't have any pics of the car right now because it looks like crap Haha. In the process of a 2 stage full urethane paint job on it as well. And she has the ss 10 spoke rims.. I'll update y'all as the project continues (slowly). Any input or advice is welcome as this is my first paint job and motor build. (Lol been working on cars 9 years and never fully built a motor or did complete paint job). Hopefully the years of research on body work and 3800 builds will pay off.

Did you remove the coating on the inside of the blower? That might not have been the best idea, from what I remember reading removing the coating makes the blower less efficient.

Well unfortunately the coating was coming off when I received it, and since I'm spraying meth/water, I went ahead and removed the rest, don't want that stuff going into the combustion chambers, I'll run a smaller pulley to compensate for the 1-3 lbs loss of boost. Lol now I'm wishing I just got a gen 5, but the fitment issues on the gen five are way worst the the 3 on fbodys

should be a sick ride when done. your doing a top sway technically, not a L67.

you should just find a used blower, they cost about a 100 used for a gen 3 less at at a junk yard.

and you need to fab up a TB intake tube to the blower inlet because the TB wont fit due to the firewall being to close. its been done before, not sure if the tb tube is being made and sold or not, every one ive seen looks different and home made.

Cool project! With enough meth/water mix being sprayed it should not only cool the temps but also "fill the gaps" so to speak and tighten the tolerances in the blower while cooling making up for the lost coating so you may not need to downsize the pulley to make up for the lost coating. Keep us posted.

Don't even worry about not having the coating, I don't see why people think its such a big deal on these Gen 3 blowers, they arent gods gift to man.

Run what you got, see how much boost it makes and just drop a size if needed.

Because 40 bucks for a pulley is way cheaper than 100+ for a supercharger plus gaskets and your time. Think smarter not harder.

Thanks y'all for the input. And yes I know all to well about the fiasco with the throttle body. I have to cut a 3" box into the firewall to make an elbow fit because I won't be modifying the housing. I'm going to run it without the coating first and see how it goes. Worst that can happen is the boost drops a tiny bit. What size pully do y'all think I should go with for the hp goals? Remember its an l26 bottom end so compression a little higher(9.4)

Oh and scottydogs. I believe that a vid of a holden rwd. Only in the down under. They came stock like that with an m90

On the pulley size, I'd start with the stock pulley and then get yourself a way to scan for KR (Aeroforce or the like). If no KR then drop pulleys. I hope you have headers on that list of things to add. Don't want to chip any pistions right off the bat.

Are you going to be tuning this as well?

Already have headers, going to heat wrap them and the radiator hoses to cut down on heat and kr hopefully. I have an app on my tablet to wirelessly connect to my PCM to check for knock and any other readable engine stats/sensors, its called torque on the Google play store, its a life saver, and cheap!

Hi Kyle

The wrap holds water and can rust the headers faster. Then again my exhaust is wrapped but I plan on getting headers one day.

I forgot but are you doing any valve train or head work?

Hey justin. Definitely, putting on 105 springs, singleroller set. And maybe hardened pushrods if its really necessary. Also an xp can and heads/intake/blower will be ported and polished. Also, they sell a special silicone spray on sealer for header wrap that prevents water getting trapped inside

How are those stagg shocks treating you? ive heard mixed reviews and know no one personally that have em

I love them. Awesome price. Ive put 1k miles on em. Much stiffer and sportier feel. I can take corners at a much higher speed. Well worth the money. Don't let bilstein or koni fanboys tell you theyre garbage, especially since they probly havent even drove a car with them. That being said I'm sure konis would be better. But these awesome for the money.

Lol we all can't spend the big money on konis Justin. This thread is all about build on a budget Haha. Wish I had konis though :( I hear they're amazing
