L36 Compatability Concerns

Hey everyone. I just bought a 2003 Grand Prix GT (I had a GAGT of the same year before that) and am now worried about tuning. I'd been tuning my GAGT for about 8 years or so with the same bin file but now I don't have an exact match for this GPGT and I'm concerned about whether the bin file will work or not. I have some 50 bin files but the closest match for this car is a 99 GT and I have a feeling that there's something newer floating around but for the life of me I could not find it after hours of internet searching. I'm hoping that there's simply a secret repository of bin files I haven't come across yet that someone can point out to me (bins.zip in the sticky did not work... broken link perhaps?) but if not, I'd be immensely appreciative if someone could at least list a few OSIDs which are guaranteed to work with my car, even if they're impalas or monte carlos or something like that.

Of course, if there is a bin for OSID 12580150, that would be ideal. Thanks very much!

Wow thanks for the quick replies. Really appreciate it. I'm tuning with DHP Powertuner. My email is [email protected].

Is there any central repository nowadays or is it down to personal exchanges of bin files?

I wish I knew how to edit (what is it... hex editing?) the stock bin to make it tunable. I totally understand the reason to lock out access when you're making money off a tuner product but seeing as DHP is essentially dead it should probably be totally open (and the support for different cars already is, to the credit of DHP).

Sent you an email a moment ago. It's a link to dropbox. That's everything I have. Should be able to find what you need in there... plus a billion other things that aren't bad to have.

You dont need to hex edit anything to add support for your stock bin.. Its an open JET db4.0 file that drives DHP so you could add it there if you knew what codemask it uses... Its not really worth the effort because you can just use one thats unlocked... I hardly ever run the "right" osid for a car because all of the latest updated files are availible on DHP.. you typically want to run the newest code you can because of all the bug fixes done over time.. its like why run windows 3.11 when you can run windows7 on the same machine.

Holy **** man this is the motherload of bin files if I've ever seen one before. I shall call you Lord Bill from now on. And I thought I had a lot of files...

Feel free to share your wealth as well. No need for names etc.. a simple thanks is plenty.

I started out on the Bonneville platform and ...those bins are rare as almost none were ordered from DHP. So I kept putting things together and each time I found more stock stuff (since many guys like to start with stock/known). Then I organized in folders and put the OSID on them etc and just kept on going. Many people sent me stuff, like DH...he posted a zip file with almost all the DHP happy bins.

Anyone that needs/wants...just needs to send a pm with an email addy. It sucked having to chase after stuff and it's nice when people work together and share.
