l32 series 3 swap

sweet. also the 3800 supercahrged engines from a impala 2002. will this be okay or do i need a gtp engine

okay good lol i was going to just get new piston heads, gascets and the gm rebuild kit and bring my l36 back to new. then get a cam in it. but ill be better off with the engine swap. will i need a gtp harness to?

like will i just be better off getting a rebuild tranny for my car and caming the engine and getting new gascets and new piston heads?

what do you mean by piston heads?

You should have some sort of tune for a cam, preferably an in car tune.

With the L67 stuff you'll make more power than an L36 with a cam.

gm has a kit for our cars that has all the gascets and it comes with piston heads and rings. but if i get a gtp engine do i need a gtp harnes to or is my gt harness good

crap on 3800.com it told me id need a cam kit with better push rods and stuff for the l67. i thought i could just install it and done.

You need to do a little more research....there's very few things you can just "install and done" esp when its inside the motor

i know i cant just install it i just wanted to avoid a custum tune. anyway do i need the gtp harness for the swap or can i use my original gt harness

If you get into anything more then cai and exhaust a tune is gonna be where its at. Its really not a big deal. As said before there's many who can do a mail tune..which isn't as good as in car, but it will work

sounds good to me.

but the big question i need answered is when i get my l67 will i need the harness for that or am i okay with my gt harness

Resident Bonne guy here.

No Bonne ever got a Series 3 motor from the factory.

0 Swap your rear exhaust manifold automatically, unless you are going headers.
0 Pull off the engine mount bracket that'll be around the balancer.
0 Keep the PS pump bracket if it's there. You'll find it's nicer to put the pump on with it. And if you ever change a WP, you won't have to drop the ps pump to do it.
0 You'll need to put a coil pack bracket on it. The bonne one won't directly work for your dogbones. Although if you look at the belt wrap before you pull the Bonne one, you'll cry. (then you'll say..how do I keep that Bonne one, it's possible)
0 If the alt is on the motor, keep it. It's a 125amp vs the stock GP 105amp.

also i was on a monte carlo forum and this guy who swaped a supercahrged engine from a 04 monte into his 02 monte said he swaped the harness, pcm and tranny and engine from the 04 monte. but it wouldnt start. they were telling him he needs the bcm (body controll monule) with the same vin number as the pcm, is this true, if i do do a swap ill need the bcm from the car i took the pcm from right?
