L32,L26,L67,L36 Diffrences?

I may have asked this before but wanted some more info.


I am trying to pick up a lower mileage engine for the turbobuild.But want to know what the differences there are between these blocks.


Is the only difference is the compression ratio on the L67?? Wich would be lower. And all the rest are higher? What is the actual compression ratios?



What makes them a different compression ratio's? The stroke on the crank?


And i'm assuming all of thses can fit in the 97-03 w-body's?


I have all of the parts off of my l67 still so I can always swap out anything I need to.

Cool. So i'm going to be using a N/A intake. So what intake's are compatable. Since I am going to be using a N/A intake then that means it will have injector basses in the lim. I will be using Ported L67 heads wich also have injector bosses in them.


Wich do I use? The ones in the head or in the LIM? How would I go about plugging the ones i am not using??


Can I use a L67 lim with a N/A upper intake manifold? That would be ideal in my case.

you can just plug the extra holes, i had a link but i cant find where some one did this. i would prolly use the ones in the heads over lim. you could use the other holes and run meth/water into them.
 
I'm pretty sure O2 sensors and spark plugs use the same thread. O2 bung plugs might work. I'd just get a set of L36/L26 heads.

And Yeah I already bought some heads with bigger valves...So that def not an option.

Yeah I probably would just use the ones in the head.

I believe he was giving size reference on what to use to gauge size to plug the holes. Example: thread them and use an o2 bung plug. (?)

You could also just have a shop weld the injector holes shut. Might save you the aggravation of finding and threading plugs...

IMO the closer to the cylinder you inject the fuel, the better. But to plug the unused injector holes:

A friend made those for me. I'm sure I could get him to make more. With these, you could keep the holes around and, as was suggested, consider some kind of alky injectors later.

I'd use the L67 heads, after many discussions with some other 3800 people, I think the injector angle and placement is better..... and for something to try, on the whipple car injector angle variations changed KR, and AFR readings.... just something to watch

I feel the best bet would be L32 block and internals, Ported L32/L26 heads(they are a little bit better place to start from than L67/L36) and def use a L26 aluminum Upper intake with a ZZP HV3(http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=214&catid=113) modified to fit, way back when that first came out people were amazed at the difference it mado on turbo cars
 
use the l67 LIM and make a sheet metal upper intake. then you can spray the alky at multiple points in the intake as well. a dual nozzle setup would be nice.
 
the L32 has low compression, coated pistons, and powdered connecting rods. the prime candidate for any build. i just had one built for me.
