here's a question...i hear alot of what sounds like chain slap or valvetrain noise from my car. usually under load at low rpm's. hearing it alot more often since doing the intake...is it normal?

i haven't put any ears on the motor to determine where the noise is from yet. no stored codes, no misfires or anything like that. could it even be the injectors i'm hearing?

As far as maintence done i have run fuel system/injector cleaners every 40,000km, and cleaned my TB at the same intervals. oil has always been changed every 6000km and has been run on synthetic since 35000km.

Yes dude.... PLEASE READ OTHER THREADS.

On these engines when you put an open filter on it, you can hear the top end chatter more. I had the same thing, as have others.

I swear i did look around and i'm going to have a listen tonite going to borrow a tech's steth from work.

Well yeah...the factory intake systems are quiet as hell really.

These are loud, clattery motors...get used to it. Running an aftermarket intake will really make you hear the noise...

yeah couch, same case in mine, same year/model.. since i did my intake i hear it under accelleration, i assumed it was knock because when i run premium it seems to happen less

but who knows lol

btw my car is at 63k miles

Scoped it last night. def not coming from the t-chain area at all. can hear it mostly from uim area so ima just leave it. like said above it's prob normal. if she gets louder i'll worry about it.
