L26 questions.....



Gt2 cam, headers, and the insert. He'll need to go back to stock rockers. Could do a little porting to the heads to help some too.
 
That's a lot of work for 200whp.

Yes but it will be the original motor and that's really all I'm shooting for. I know a guy who knows a guy that would dino and tune for me after the mods. This guy is real good too. My friend took his GTO to him to get it supercharged the end result was 545 whp. I thought about this cam.........

St1 cam is for turbo cars. Go with the gt cams, those are for NA motors like yours. Personal I would go with the gt2 for the 200whp goal your looking for. Even if you go with the gt1 you should still upgrade your springs. Crow cam 105s are the way to go.
 


On average 15-20% for an auto. However, some dyno'd their L36/26 over on clubgp and in stock trim made like 140-145ish to the wheels.
 
Probably not many considering its 2k and anyone looking to topswap more then likely only knew they could topswap a L26 after being on a forum. Ill turbo it for that price.

From what I gather from the last few days is that a top swap on an L26 is a bad idea because of the weak connecting rods. Which sucks because that is what I would love to do to mine. Turbo runs the same problem. If anyone has done either one to the L26 successfully I would love to here from them.
 
Most would just drop a complete L32/67 in it and call it a day. Way less work when you think about it or you could just trade for a gtp if it was that serious.
 
Thinking about an L32 but it would have to be 65k motor or less. Preferably I would like to have a completely rebuild bottom end. I could deal with the rest. I know its allot to ask but that is what the odometer reads so thats the way it is.
 
I believe the dealership can reprogram the mileage but don't quote me. There's not many guys that end of needing the bottom end built just as a reference those are pretty much indestructible.
 
I may have just found a full 1997 GTP with 126k for $2500 and its minty.......... Ill take pics tomorrow. If I get it I'm just goin to do all the na mods to the 07 and see what happens on a dyno.
