KR on stock pulley

I don't post much, I just do a lot of reading. Anyway I just got a ScangaugeII and went for a drive last night. At full throttle I'm seeing about 3.1*KR. Is this normal on a stock car?

The only thing I have done is added a FWI and did the 180* tstat and autolite 104s when i did the maintenance. I did these to try and reduce KR and in preparation of the pulley drop. I have a 3.4 pulley but i didn't want to install it before i could scan for KR. Also I have SSAC headers but they are not installed yet. Thanks in advance.

Plus...if you still have a stock DP and U-Bend...with the Fenderwell your bringing in more air than getting rid of it. I bet if you'd get a DP and or a U-Bend Delete almost all of that KR would go away...then again...you said you have headers so it doesn't matter..those will kill ALL of your KR.

Great news! I'm doing my struts this weekend and then the headers go on next weekend. If I still have some KR after the headers should I hold off on the pulley? Or do the pulley and just take it easy until i get the tune? Or will I ever be able to completely eliminate my KR?

a tune will more than likely net you what you want. i would wait on the pulley until right before you do the tune. no reason in running more boost when your car doesnt know how to use it.

You shouldnt drop pulley's without a tune or at least knowing how much KR you are getting before hand.

Increasing the intake and exhaust ... like BlueGTP and BIO mentioned is a great way to reduce and/or eliminate KR. However, fueling changes (A good PCM tune)... will also help.

Here is my plan. Next weekend I'm going to do the headers and scan again to see If i got rid of the KR. I found a guy locally with HP Tuners that will do a full tune for $275, right before he does the tune I'll drop pulleys. Sound good?

Only a good plan if he knows his ass from a hole in the ground with HPT.

This is true, the guy owns a GTP and says he has tuned several others locally. I know nothing about tuning. I have been doing a lot of reading, trying to arm myself with some sort of knowledge of tuning a car before I give it to him. I guess my fear is he will just load a previous tune and not really do a custom one for my car based the parts I have.
