Knocking noise in rear?

About 3 months ago i purchased a 2007 GP GXP from a dealership. About a month after i got the car a loud "popping/knocking" noise is coming from the rear of the car. I took it back the the dealership to see if they can find out what it exactly is. They were useless and couldn't find anything so i ended up taking it to my mechanic about it. He also said he couldnt find anything> My good friend knows a lot about cars and says it might have something to do with the strut or strut mount? Once again my mechanic said he couldnt find anything so i do not know what to do. If anyone knows anything or what it might be please let me know it would be greatly appreciated> Thanks
 


Sounds like a strut mount to me. Try getting under it and taking a look for anything that may be out of place, a clean section of metal on an otherwise rusted part, etc..
