I think that is a hangin offense in some parts of Georgia and Alabama
ROFL. No doubt. There's some things you just dont mess with.

I love cars just as much as the next person. But for many, the original Knight Rider is locked to Pontiac. Its more than just a love of cars. I can appreciate all cars. I have a fair amount of respect for the Cobra, I just probably wouldnt own one. Its a brand loyalty thing too.
It would be like bringing back the Dukes of Hazzard show and using a Toyota Matrix instead of the General Lee.
That is a huge difference in comparison though. I never really tied Knight Rider to the Pontiac per se, it was more about the performance and coolness of the car. Any of the American muscle cars could have been the first KITT. Was smart of GM and the entertainment business to piggyback on the Smokey and the Bandit success.:th_biggrin2:
see, while the original KITT was a pontiac, it didnt seem like the whole show was a commercial. this go-round, just about everywhere you look, oh hey theres a new ford they're drivin. it was just a little much...
i can see the point about the transformer movie and gm... but that was a movie. the knight rider "movie" was supposed to be a pilot for a tv show. if the show ends up like that, it'll be a joke. (if it isnt already)
heh
fords version of viper (anyone remember that one?)
Oh well, Im not bitter about it, really. My wife keeps laughing at me, but she doesnt realized how much the original Knight Rider cemented my love for Pontiac. I liked Pontiac before that but that show just finalized the love affair.
There was any number of vehicles in the Pontiac house that could have filled the bill as the KITT replacement. The GTO and the G8 come to mind.
Transformers may have been GM based, but so was the original Knight Rider. Thats what makes this so bad in my opinion. They take a classic show and just destroy it using a Ford. It is such a known fact with me (my love of Pontiac) that after getting rid of my last car and buying the Grand Prix, a friend of mine that owned the same vehicle and was also a customer of mine stated when I told him I had bought the Grand Prix "You finally went back home". I thought, yeah, yeah I have.
They could have used a Pontiac Solstice GXP or a G6 coupe GXP like the ones they use in the Rolex series That are V8 RWD
From just the GM side the Corvette would have been a good one. So if GM wanted to pay they could had it but they didn't
Yeah the new Z06 would've been sweet, but they probably didnt want a 2 seater.
