Kidding about the Grand AM killing me, just wondering whats the most suprising car that Killed you guys. Only thing that Ive been killed by was a 2000+ Cobra... I knew he was going to own me but IDC i just wanted to have some fun. Wasn't as bad as I thought though, we did 0-70 and he had me by a car. Considering he has 400+ HP i thought my 260 did ok.
What about you guys/girls?

that statement = epic fail

unless the guy driving the cobra had an uncontrolable prostetic arm...0-70 he would had way more than a car on you...
 
I'm just telling you how it went down, you dont have to give a smart comment about it. Maybe he wasnt going all out but he was racing for sure cause when he went to 2nd gear he had wheel spin. All im doing is sharing an experience. As i said in my post I know that car would own me and most GTP's out there. Also it may not have been 70mph since my kmh to mph conversion isnt that great. I can give another excuse if you like? Maybe it was a GT with Cobra badges??

Bullsh*t. If the Cobra is stock I doubt it.

They are put in a fuc*ing trophy case but they are nothing great and with a bad driver have problems getting OUT of 14's.
 
:th_wtf: blue gtp i dont get it the cobra was rated at 390 crank horses (found to be normally underated), the gtp 260hp and the cobra weighs ~300 more pounds...i just see more than a car length on those numbers...unless the driver mod was needed...am i wrong here? not trying to start a arguement just simply stating my opinion...they are trophied because intake,pulley,tune makes for a pretty beastly setup! id love to be in the 12's with those mods....however think about this....

thats 9600$ at very most (all parts new) and ron vogel in the 12's going 11's with slicks on that setup...12 second sub 10k car is very good

thats 30,700$ at very most.....running 12's and 11's so which would you choose

GTP ftmfw :th_nanana:...even turboed gtps that spank cobras are less that 15k properly done....

The Cobras are nice! I raced my mom in her stock one and my car is stock. She can drive a stick VERY well! And by like around 60ish she was 2cars ahead of me and would have kept going but once she got infront she slowed down. They are bad cars! But I have never "raced" any car that has beat me and I was surprised. I had some neon guy and yes just reg. ol' neon guy tell abunch of people he KILLED me! I told him to bring it to the track and he wouldnt. I didnt even race him! lmao. I guess he didn't think people from my town new me or my car!!
 
Well I guess the most surprising race was a newer chevy diesel truck. Man he kept up good. Last week I raced an Acura rsx with my 3.4 setup and the dude actually kept up okay. He still lost but he was a good sport
 
2000 cobras were rated at 390HP? And that is underrated? And they sell for 25-30k used still? I don't know if this is correct, but sounds a little off to me......

Used cobras go for $18-23K. Really low mile ones goes for over $25k. You can't deny they are badass cars though.
 
I have a buddy with an Audi S4, the one with a turbo 6 and all wheel drive, From a dig he gets me every time. But if we're cruisin and go we are even. The time we lined up it surprised me!

Ya...whats sad is she don't really know what a supercharger is..or why it makes that "stupid loud sound" is what she said! lol But she sold it :( but it was fun to drive and I wish at the time I could have took it off of herhands!

03 + 04 cobras were 390...and if he is saying 400+ hp im assuming its one of these years
 
i raced an evo with my n/a slow setup and i got **** on. I wasn't surprized, evos can be crazy.
 


with my ride STOCK, @ the 1/4 mi track I could take GTs and even a Cobra to half track, after that its like Im in park.
 
lol my most surprising loss was when my friend first bought his 2007 hyundai sonata v6 and @ the time I was still stock and we went from a dig and he beat my by a car lol
 
Last year, I was sitting at a set of lights next to a Infinity G35, When it went green, we both cranked it, and I was winning for about the first 100 feet, after that I got SPANKED!
 
jus yesterday i got stomped by en E63 AMG. I was doing 115 and he blew by like i wasn't even movin. i posted about it in another thread,... but those Benz's are sick.
