Keys stuck in ignition help!!!



alright i dont know if its the lock solenoid in the steering console or not because the key doesn't turn all the way back to off i can only get it to about half way before off how do i know whats causing this is it the harness in the shifter console instead?
 
im having the exact same problem with my 98 GTP i think its the solenoid but i have looked around and on a couple forums it said to just jiggle the wires under the dashboard i dont know if it works i havent got to mess with it yet but i will let you know if i find a fix and if you find one first please let me know i really dont want to have to take it into the shop
 
reach under the plastic steering console and find a button it will release the key when it gets stuck
