Keyless entry with no alarm?

Ive only got a normal key for my grand prix no fob and Im pretty sure I have no factory alarm at all but I do have power locks, I went and ordered a keyless entry fob to program but will it even work if I dont have any kind of alarm box? its a 97 gt if it matters lol
 


you should have at least keyless entry. if you buy a fob for your year it should program.

if you only have one key, but a spare they cost like 12 bucks on line for the chipped keys, then you go get it cut at a hardware store. and program it to the car.
 
yeah ive made a copy, but yeah when i bought the car the dude just gave me the regular key and i didnt think much of it, so since i ordered a fob not having an alarm shouldnt affect that ?
 
google your standard options for your car, thats how i figured out if my regal came with it or not.

my car also came with one key for the ignition and one for the trunk, got another ignition key and trunk key, bought 2 fobs, all safe and happy now.
 
I checked that sticker that lists what the car comes with and my car has the code for lock control, remote entry so im assuming that means keyless entry?
