key stuck in ignition

i got an 01 gp and the key won't come out of the ignition i got it out putting a pen thru the hole under the dash but my question was what part do i need to replace to fix this is it a part i can buy at an auto parts store or should i go to a junkyard for it thanks all

take that little cover off the bottom of the column and super glue that little white tab/button up and never worry again.

I had this same problem a while back and simply took the white plastic part out and threw in trash.

Check your btsi fuse and see if it's blown.

If you don't get it to work try shifting when the car is off all the way back then forward again. It works every time that rare occurance happens to my car.
