Key Stuck in Ignition/ wont start

So I was driving my car, its a 2000 GTP, about an hour before this happened and it was perfectly fine. I went to start it and the first turn of the key the car did its normal thing and all the dash lights came on but when I went to start it, NOTHING happened, all the lights went off and the key was stuck in the ignition. No lights work at all, cant shift, and it wont start, the only way to get the key out is the manual release under the steering column..can anyone help??

dead battery, bad grounds, or loose or dirty battery connections or grounds?

Thanks guys, it was the negative terminal on the battery ,I tightened it down and everything worked
