Keep C230 Sport or get GXP?

I am really debating if I should trade in my c230 sport for a 07 GXP. below are the details.. Basically i loved my GTP years ago and i love my benz, but i dont like the 470$ monthly payment and the COSTLY service and replacement fees for a benz. i know i am comparing a 40K car to a 28K or so car.. so that is why I am here asking for some sound advice.

2007 benz C230 Sport:
I owe 24K
Appraised at 21K
Miles: 23,000
Cond. Mint.
Monthly payment: $470.00

2007 GP GXP:
Price 16K + 3-4K for upside down payment of my benz :(
Miles: 29,000
Cond. Mint
Estimate payment $ 380-403

I dont plan to upgrade or mod the GXP, atleast for now. I drive about 80 miles a week. I have tried to find videos about the GXP 07 that might help but most are just exhaust videos lol.. anyone who has a GXP or can help me better decide that would be great.. I used to be a member of an Illinois GTP forum but cant remember the site ( been like 8 years )

thank you very much in advance!!

Gee guy. You bought in the wrong year.

If you'd waited another year you could have gotten the C300 which is MUCH better than the C230 Kompressor.

Get the GXP.

Neither is a good buy in terms of future resale value.

99-07 C230's were junk, basically. The later ones were a little better but not by much.

I used to work at benz, i've seen em come in with all kinds of issues.

well i bought the benz in Feb this year havent had any issues, but i know when it comes for new brakes tires etc.. it will be $$$$$.. i have a 6 year warranty on the benz..
thank for your input nixon.

My main concern here is lowering my monthly payment but having a reliable car for the next 5 or so years.. i take excellent care of any car i have owned.

Are you able to help me better understand the reasoning to go with the GXP

the gxp will be less costly to maintain in the long run parts are cheaper. even if you have someone else do the maintenance and repairs it will be cheaper. the engine in the gxp is the tried and true 5.3 ls it made 1200 horsepower with a bargain basement turbo setup on a stock bottom end in hotrod magazines tests. almost any shop will work on a gxp and there are far less issues with the gxp in general. plus people wont think you are trying to compensate for any shortcomings if you own a gxp.

This.

...The "5.3" they built was actually a truck engine, and it was a 4.8L

thanks guys I will test drive the GXP on wednesday.. i dont knwo fi this plays a factor it is from carmax. the history report shows it was bought in Florida in 06 the lien was placed and was a rental for 6 month before carmax bought it. i know alot of people hate carmax..

Thanks AJ.. dang whole new forum ah well. and thanks for the link Nixon! hopefully the GXP will be in great condition .. as much as i dislike carmax having a 6 warranty on it might help over the years

i know with carmax you can remove the carmax warranty anytime u like.. Nixon are you suggesting calling and removing the warranty before i trade it in? will that benefit me? lower the upside down payment? if i get the GXP i would get a warranty with it seeing the Manf. warranty on the GXP expires in a year. sorry for being a dumba** on all this and very thankful for all you help.. i just like make sure this GXP is the right choice.
