K&N Air Intake Horsepower

Dyno a stock car and show me the gains.

Better yet, why does anyone car how much power it makes? The only time power matters is when it comes time to brag to your buddies how "fast" your car is.

Go to the track and get some "fast" times and let the slips do the talking.

10 WHP can easily be negligible if you need the driver mod so again, why does ANYONE care?

My point is your points are negligible because most people don't know how to drive.

Again, you can debate different intakes, but debating the increase in power from one specific one is useless.

It may satisfy ones curiosity, but wouldn't you rather try running at the strip with/without and see if it makes a difference? Oh thats right... your times will vary based on your own skill.

You can own a 2000 HP drag car but only post 10's if you don't know how to drive.

What matters more: Making more power than the other guy, or being faster than the other guy?

Consider that different cars will make different amount of power with the same mods then this whole argument is even more useless.

If you honestly believe that an intake nets anywhere over 10 horsepower to the wheels on these cars...go back to page 1 and read what I said. It's like saying you can run knock free on a 3.4" with a 160* T-Stat and AL103's. It is common sense. I'm not "being a hypocrite" I'm tellin you how it is. You tune...you should know.
 


LOL if you think that just a K&N drop in with a gutted airbox netted you 9 WHEEL HORSEPOWER. You probably had a really crappy clogged up filter to begin with.

As for the K&N...for the money...its junk. You can take it off and make your own and make MORE power...for more than half the price. I'd tell you a WAY better way to make power for $300 or so...its called methanol injection, a tune, and a smaller pulley...I bet you'd get 25 WHEEL Horsepower. Stick that in K&N or ZZP's pipe and smoke it.

yea those things will make power too, but it does not have anything to do with the intake.

someone said they made 9hp on the dyno after an intake. from the stock air box, to an open cone, im sure i could knock .2ths if not more off my 1/4 mile time. that is probably somewhere between 9-10whp. maybe when i do get on a dyno i can clarify all of this but i cant now. but at the same time nobody has any proof that it only picks up 4-5hp. so some guesses it puts out about 10, someone guess it puts out about 5. but NOBODY knows. and to say your right and there dumb because that is what you guess, yea its being hypicritical. why is there guess not right???
 
this is so funny, i can't wait till i have atleast 3000 post . then maybe someone will take my experience as an option..dyno test are out there if u look. i am more willing to believe a dyno sheet than one guys opinion that has done 1 cam swap. **** guys, pushrod engines have been around forever, u think because u did a tune with a tuner that you;ve actually built an engine. Quit being pu$$ies---this site is merely different guys opinions. ur's doesn't carry anymore weight than others...not busting on anyone, we all can learn new stuff from each other.just beacuse u can't doit, doesn't mean that i can't..opinions are like ass holes, everybody has one so stay outta mine!!!! luv u guys!

You can build your own for $60, or pay K&N $250 for the same exact thing with a K&N sticker on it. I chose the first option, but it's up to you. Btw, for that much you can get modded rockers which will net you about 20-25hp instead of 2.

like said im almost positive i could pick up atleast .2ths in the 1/4 from going from a stock intake to an open cone. that is more than 2whp.
