on the 2nd of march me my brother and the kids went to detroit for monster jam. my 98 gtp ran perfect on the way there and most of the way back. that was until i got to the fowlerville exit, all i heard was clink clink ting ting and the motor died. its cooked so i got an whole other 97 bonniville for 500 bucks motor and tranny have 89000 on it. Its not supercharged so i hope tranfering the heads and intake and sc from my motor to this one plus some other things will work do you guys suggest any thing else. im limited on cash so i hope this works
 


what you are thinking about is called a top swap, yes it can be done. but you will need your pcm tuned for the high compression n/a block. and you'll want to put headers on the car, so it can exhale.
 
Look at the top swap thread for more or better info as to what all you will need. If the trans is a 4t60e it wont work, if its the 4t65e you need to tune your pcm for the correct gear ratio.
 


Pick a number between 0 and 20
Multiply by 2
Subtract 260
Divide by 4
Now close your eyes
