I was driving my new car today, yes I just got the car today :-/, and the reduced engine power indicator came on and the traction control/stability control also came on. I had pedal pushed to the floor and could only get the car to about 35mph the whole time. Check engine light was also on and got it checked, they gave me a B0236 and P0068 is what he said. he said he'd clear the codes for me and said he did but the light never went off. After a few hours I started the car again and took it for a drive and the check engine light was on but the car was running fine like it did when I bought it and the 110 miles after it. So i've done a lot of research online and nobody ever posts what their fix action is on the issue. I am awaiting a phone call from the salesman sometime tomorrow and may be dropping the car off on labor day and get a loaner but was just wondering if there was something I should know about this issue? I checked the filter and it was a little dirty, so I used a compressor and blew it off. Maybe thats why the car drives fine now?? wouldnt the check engine light clear?

Anyone can help me figure out what this could be I'd be very grateful.

Thanks!

P.s. this is my first post on this forum, I just traded a cobalt ss in and was on their forum as well.

Even if the filter was what caused it, and blowing it off solved the problem, the check engine light would still stay on. It took my check engine light a few days to clear after solving all of my problems. I doubt that's what it is though. Your best bet is to have the salesmen look at it. After he tells you he's fixed everything, take it to a shop and explain the issues and they should look at it for free, find out what's wrong, and give you a quote. Take the list of issues the shop found to the salesmen, and tell him to fix it again.

Well they will fix it. Its an actual chevy dealership which helps. Its just odd how it drives fine now. They will fix whatever the issue is.
Ill probably replace the filter at next oil change anyways.

P0068 MAP/MAF - Throttle Position Correlation

B0236 Air flow control (general/single control) circuit high

There may be something wrong with the throttle body.

Why would it go back to driving fine after awhile then? Juat odd cause info center had all the stuff turned off and reduced engine power.

my 03 gmc truck had this "reduced power" come up on it the driver info area, the truck would only idle when this happened. if i turned it off and restarted it it it would run fine for 15 to 20 minutes. took it to the dealer and it was a bad maf. check engine light never came on either.

newer cars when they sense a problem, they just shut the car down so it cant be driven far, just enough power to steer and have brakes. most of the time its sensor related.

Just changed the air filter. My concern is why its intermittent and the CEL is on. Some reason ac isnt blowing cold anymore. Maybe im just being crazy lol.

Its a wire grounding out on the manifold thats causing the check engine light. Its also causing the ac issue. And a door actuator. Getting fixed now

uhm never heard this one before, but i will vouch for one little wire throwing these cars off alot.

Yeah it caused the computer to throw a few codes and apparently it blew a few fuses. They thought before when they were looking over the car before putting it on the lot that it was just fuses but the wire caused the fuses to blow.
Glad its fixed now.
