I just bought this 2002 Grand Prix V6! I'm very excited to own it...I looked at a couple different cars but I dicided on one that I could learn some things about. It has some issue's with it that may or may not be an easy fix! But with the tutorials on the site and your help I'm hoping to do the best job I can and provide everyone with updates! Here are some pictures of the problems...

There are multiple paint chips on the hood and scratches on the roof behind the sunroof!



The windshield wipers when off stay in the upright position..I got quite a chuckle out of this but to be honest it's annoying as hell when your driving, not to mention dangerous...I have to fix this ASAP...I think it's the wiper motor yet they still work so it maybe something else.



Both tail lights have scratches..one he tried to fix by using some sort of sealer..it looks like crap. The other, pictured below, the crack is wide open to weather..

This was the first thing I did! I painted them red...he had done the logo on the plastic cover and the V6...they look poorly done




Any thoughts.?..haha
 


as for the wipers-- on the wiper linkage, there is a small tab that has gotten bent out of where it belongs that keeps the wipers from parking at the top... if i can find the line drawing i will post it, it's on the forum somwhere already though.

Ya she's in a bit of rough shape, but i'm hoping I can fix it up ...it has 150,000km and I paid 3 grand! I plan to learn and execute most of the work myself, with a little help from tutorials! My first plan is to fix the wipers and tailights...then I may do some detailing..

I'll try looking for that wiper thread..thx

Where are you located? I have a NON rusty black hood and intact, lightly tinted tails here for sale in VT. All parts off my old 97 GP. Front fenders have a little rust behind where the mud flaps went, but are in serviceable condition as well.

As far as the wipers go, call your dealer and run the VIN. There is a recall out for wipers parking in the upward position. Also have them check the steering rack recall as well.
 


Thought i'd update everyone! I fixed the wipers & the rust on the hood..just doing some touch ups to other parts of the body! If anyone has 2 taillights from an 97 - 03 model grand prix ! I'll buy them off you cash or paypal! Let me know! You would be shipping to Toronto!
