I just bought a 02 2 door gtp. Car has been sitting for a year and has 94k on it. It already has borla cat back and K and N intake system, and I just ordered a 3.4 pulley system, u bend delete, and jegs coils wit MSD wires. I am on a budget so can't spend much just wondering what other parts I can do with a decent amount of money and average installation that I can get the most power out of?

headers...you're gonna need em with a 3.4". Since your in Jersey I am sure there is someone on a local GP forum that can tune your car too. Put that pulley on last. KR = death.

i do blower porting, i have a thread on here. worth the money, as its alot of work to do youreself and to do a good looking job you need many tools, which could cost alot if you dont already have them.

dont waste your money on the wires and coils its not gunna help you. take that money and use it towards a tune and get rid of that k&n system and contact TDCracing for an intake

thanks a lot for the help, i'm definetly gonna get a set of headers and probably replace the pcm as well. Tune time is about an hour away from me in NJ so that's not bad, any idea how much they charge for tuning?

You don't have to take the engine out to install headers...who was the deededee that told you that?

And stock...until you get mods. Intake, 180* T-Stat, Autolite 104 spark plugs, New Wires of some kind, Tuned PCM of some kind, Front Powerlog, 3" Downpipe and U-Bend delete and you MIGHT get away with a 3.4" pulley.

Have you had a GTP before? It's real fun and easy to add some ponies, you'll love it. Add your modifacations, but don't spend all your money on those mods until you check a couple of common failure points on these cars. Trust me, it's no fun to beef up your ride and then have something like the transmission dump out because you never thought to check it! So...

It's been sitting a year and has 94k on it, you'll at least want to check the following:
* Failure of the lower intake manifold gastket (LIM), by this time it may be leaking coolant internally or externally, which left un-adressed will destroy the engine. If your car still has the orange Dexcool coolant in it, you'll want to change that out, too.
* Have the transmission thoroughly checked out, scanned (do NOT flush it, too risky if they don't know what they're doing). It's safe to say that our 4T65e-HD tranny's require meticulous attention. Start using Dexron VI tranny fluid, learn how to change it yourself, and replace the transmission filter every now and again.

Yup...right there...Dexron VI, New GM Filter...just drop the pan, don't flush it...it'll hurt it more than help it. Install a shift kit while your in there. Shifting faster makes it easier on the tranny hard parts and at the same times makes your car a bit faster and they are cheap...like 100 bucks.

thanks a lot guys for the help and info on parts, I'm a complete nood when it comes to these L67 engines so I appreciate the help with everything. I'm gonna try my luck with the 3.4, and the mods you listed bluegtp and get it tuned by overkill as well, thanks again guys

for a shift kit get the intense shift kit. I was stupid and got the ZZP one thinking it can't be that bad but its really not worth the money. You could make the same kit with $5 worth of parts from the hardware store its horrible.
