Just a quickie update...

Pulled both belts off and ran it with no change in sound...

Looked up a few youtube vids of flexplate sound and it's starting to make me feel more confident in the noise that is coming from below...

I'm now thinking I should drop the tranny and do it from there...This way I can replace my CV's as I think one of those is toast...

Wow, 5 years 8 months later I return to this thread to add closure if anyone is interested...

Turns out, it was a lifter going out for many years (the knocking sound)...

I can't believe it was a simple fix and that it made along for this amount of time.

I always just thought it was piston slap, crank bearing, or flexplate.

When you have your LIM off, just do a lifter/pushrod swap (as everyone has always said), save yourself from pulling the LIM again in the future and spend the extra $150 bucks to swap the lifters/rods out...
