Just a Phantom Black Metallic GTO..Named Shadow

goats commin along nicely man, keep it up, iv been looking to get one since january, and they dont exist in my area, just 04's =\

Cease hating on '04s. Even a floor mat from an '04 Goat>any Grand Prix. And if you think a H/C/Stalled 5.7 won't make a 6.0 hate life, you would be sorely mistaken. ;)

On the way to the JY, got cutoff by a 4 door Porsche, so I dropped the hammer in the goat and cut him right the fvck back. Fvcking douchenozzle wouldn't even look at me when I slowed down to tell him he was numero uno .l.

Good day in my opinion.

Either it was the full moon, or something in the water. I had to teach a Macan Turdblo the difference in a GTO and a G5 2 days ago. Also grinworthy. :)

not hating on 04's at all, just not a fan of their plain look, and i wont be able to afford to get a hood and dual exaust with the rear bumper and the few boltons to make it be like the 6.0's, so for a guy on a budget like myself the 6.0 is the best bang for the buck. i can use that money that i would use to make it be like a 6.0 and use it on a actual 6.0 and make more power

That's why you mod it when you can. goodluck 04s are plentiful... 6.0 don't pop up as often.

around my area, nothing really pops up, no g8's no gto's, g8s are either high mileage or v6's, and goats are normally the same selection of 04's with maybe one 6.0 sprinkled in, and like i stated i would have some money saved but id rather not use it to make the 04 pop, instead use it on a 6.0 or w/e the next car will be for boltons

LOL 04s tend to go cheaper and are just as easy to mod why people frown on the 5.7 goats is beyond me........ Still a damn LS with a gigantic aftermarket.....

Went out of town this weekend to my buddies ranch. Did a lot of stuff on the truck
Rear diff was leaking, new gasket and fluid, no more leaks.

New rear shocks for free from my bro.

Put on new rear disk brake pads, truck stops way better now.

Scored some Alpine front speakers tonight to replace the blown stockers.

Thanks, just wait patiently, the right deal will find you.

Tisk tisk on the pad slap.

I'm kinda confused, guess your talking about the Porsche. Fvck em either way.

True words right there.

Always a fun time messing with people. haha.

This is true, out of the little local goat group here the guy with the 04 is the Fastest, his has H/C/I , stall, gears, gutted and caged. Every time at the car meet when we all start up to leave his LS1 drowns out all of the surrounding LS2's.

Found out after driving around the ranch that the 4WD hi and low work spot on. Didn't go in any mud, just climbed small hills. After some research tonight, I realized that the front of the truck is 2002 Escalade. The truck is growing on me. Glad I scored the ride for 1500 bucs.

This is an '04. Looks like an '05/06... Only speedier.

Truth is, buy the best car you can for the money you hve to spend. A well cared for '04>a beat down '06. You can always add the hood and rear bumper down the road as you can afford to. ANd the exhaust is a moot point also IMO- I mean, stock exhaust? Who has that? That's like a Fox 5.0 without 40 series Flowmasters.

You're never heard the term "pad slap"??

Thats when you just slap pads in the calipers and not replace the rotors or resurface them.

I always machine the rotors if I know they are still in good shape but have minor wear or a small lip. That way a fresh surface is mated to the new brake pads.

Ahh, ok. Nah, never heard that term, the cheap, but new pads came with the truck. The rotors looked a little thin in the skin. Couple of paydays away and I will get ceramic pads and new rotors. Brakes are way better than when I bought it LOL.

someone on ls1gto just traded his 06 ibm gto, 36k, its going for a steal $13k i think

the ls2 has its issues too, its not all rainbows and unicorns

ls2 tends to burn oils
ls2 gto's have electronic throttle bodies (which are irritating)

all manual gto's firewalls have a tendency to crack, since we are left hand drive gm had to relocate the driver seat, the hole was stamped punched in the firewall for the clutch master cylinder, gm didn't think to reinforce the hole for stress, the gto's Australian twin doesn't have this problem

parts are terribly expensive or impossible to get, have to get everything used or order from aussie land (this doesn't include motor/trans

new headlights cost like $1k (ea), unless you get cheapo halo's off ebay, you cant order headlights from aussie land because the drivers headlight is fixed to aim at on-coming traffic

i didn't mean to go off, started a thought and i had to finish lol

Every word is true, I love this GTO, but I should have researched about it first. Wasn't until 3 days after I bought it, that I quickly realized how expensive it is to own one. So far the used parts that I got off eBay have worked out.

Sanded and polished the Headlights on the Z71 today. Also got the AC working. My son named his truck Bandit, mainly because we scored big time with this truck.

I have to restore my gfs RAV4 headlights here soon. Gonna do 2k wet sand. 2500 wet sand. Ultimate compound. Then some sealer my buddy hooked me up with from Monroe hopefully that works

Hard to tell from the pic I posted, but they were really yellow. I hit them with a sheet of 600, then 800, switched to 1000 wet sand, 3000 wet sand, 5000 wet sand, with a final polish compound and sealed up with a UV protectant. Main thing to do remember is to keep even pressure while sanding and a couple drops of soap in the spray bottle.

Got it. I'll remember it. Thanks mike
