• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Just a little problem........

Anyone have any idea how i can get my car to start? Ill explain a bit more. I was taking advantage of the wife and kids being gone for the day and started going thru the process to re-tune for the 3.2 i picked up from Reptile. I use HPTuners and had successfully re-flashed the pcm several times today but now when i try to open the last scan it says "file failed validation check". Then in HPTUNERS editor I flashed the last tune I updated and now the car wont start. Any ideas on how to fix this? I have sent an email to their support dept and also went through their troubleshooting FAQ. The car turns over, the 5 chimes sound, locks cycle, and you can hear the fuel pump prime it just wont start . Guess ill be calling a cab for work tomorrows.

100 PE data logging and then playing with MAF freq to dial it in. I had already done 1 log and then change the maf hz and things were headed in the right direction as far as ltft's so I went back out logged some more and then just did the usual paste special by half then change my PE and adders back to the normal settings save the file and wrote it then no start.

Download the latest 2.24 version from your customer page, then re-open the Editor and find the tune you wish to write.

Do the write cal only and try again.

It might work.

ok ill try that I also just notice the security light is now on??? Should I try a security relearn?

I do have s/w/version 2.24.57 is this the latest? I can really tell from anywhere on the HPT website or in my HPT member account? By the way the for the quick replies. Talk about some active users.

Ok I have done a security relearn as well as updated HPT to the latest version 2.24.1094 tried reloading the last tune that ran and. The car turns over, the 5 chimes sound, locks cycle, and you can hear the fuel pump prime it just wont start.

Sorry I just edited my post trying to let you guys know I did the security light relearn as well.

Should I disconnect the battery? In HPT troubleshooting FAQ they say not to but on some other forums Ive seen a few post stating this helped.

do you have a stock hp file for your car still? maybe try flashing that back to the pcm. or the original file if you read and saved it and left it alone.

if you have a spare pcm try that too.

every time i change pcm's i need to do the security learn, but my car wont even crank till i do the learn.

if you dont have a spare pcm, i got a spare 02 pcm ill let go rather cheap. i could flash it to a gtp bin and and add bills trans tune, and your vin # then when you read the pcm with your HP and you got bills trans tune in hp.

Somewhere along the line when I was learning to use HPT I made the mistake of overwriting my stock .bin with a basetune1.0 type tune file. Its the stock .bin just modified. Ive ran that tune for a bit and it was fine so I don't se why I cant write back to that one.

No extra PCM and a spare is probably a good idea. PM me what youd be willing to part with it for. I have may battery charger hooked up now and will need to wait a bit before I can continue troubleshooting.

Thx scottydoggs its back up abd running. No clue whats up with my pcm. Some part of it must have gotten jacked up during the last write I tried. I thought it was more about the security light. Just went around the block a few time so I have not had a chance to feel the trans tune your always posting about :-) sunday with be a funday for me.

glad to hear its alive again.

id read the new pcm, then try to flash the file to your old pcm. if it takes and fires up, you now have a spare pcm.

Will do either tomorrow or monday ill have some time plus im getting my new tires put on my 18's cant wait!!
