Why can't there be more parents or teachers like that! Kids today have no idea how easy they have it to only go out and frak it up with speaking "text" speak!

And I agree with Street on that one!

Our language is growing simpler and consequently less expressive every couple of years. We're becoming concerned only with getting a general idea across quickly, while losing the ability to eloquently or even concisely express complex ideas. We're creating a generation that speaks in sound bytes.
 
Text talk is so stupid. I just type out the whole word. I don't care if it's going to end up being 2 messages or if I have to shorten it.

I have friends that get angry when I call them to reply to a text.

(Friend) "Dude, why'd you call me? You could have just texted me back!"

(Me) "Texting is gay and you're gay for doing it."

(Friend) "You're an ass."

(Me) "I love you too."

Seriously though, even though texting does come in handy sometimes I don't get why some people choose to use it as their primary means of communication. Calling somebody is so much more efficient. Get this, if you want to ask me a question, CALL ME. And I'll answer it, right then and there! And you can ask me another question and I'll answer that one too! INSTANTLY! It's amazing how that works!
 
I'll text "u busy?" if I get a 'yes' back, I reply "call when u can". If I get a 'no' I call them.
Then there are the ones who text me first... whole other story!
 
I can't stand the people (usually females) that sit there and text eachother while they're in the same fvcking room!! I just want to take their phone and break it in half.

I only text when i forward things or to my wife at work where she can't call me. Other than that I usually call.
 
I turned my Text off on my phone. It was costing me too much with all the stupid crap people were sending me. If I want to talk, I pick up the phone. My fingers are too big to be pushing these small ass buttons to tell somebody something.

I actually pissed off my wife this afternoon. I told her to quit texting me so i could get some work done. It was like every 30 sec while i was trying to get this pc to come up at work. (POS win2k.) The room i was in was dead quiet and here my phone is dinging like every 30sec. Was kinda embarrassing. Needless to say she hasn't called or text ed me back yet. :(
