Hey i found a cheap supercharged engine at the junkyard will it be a good idea to put it in my GT since my engine went out on me

Not to be harsh but if you have to ask I can only assume you don't know exactly what you are getting into.

Yes the motor would fit but how will you do everything else?

You'd need a tune for sure, depending on year and if you have the vacuum 4T60e I wouldn't want to do the swap.

Oh ok my timing chain went out and it dont crank anymore and my mechanic said it would be easier and faster just to get another engine

Your mechanic sounds like a moron. Not cranking has nothing to do with a bad timing chain, and it wouldn't be solved with a new engine.

or a seized up block. put a socket on the crank bolt and try to turn the engine over.

I've seen a few bad chains, typically it was an aftermarket double roller before they were figured out as being Aussie crank chains and not US. I've seen a couple tensioners go bad and hose things up.. but it's not common at all.

Could have hydro-locked too, pull a spark plug or two and you'd really know that answer.
