• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Junk I drive

I should make a vid of the app screen for comparison, maybe I would catch a clue watching them side-by-side.

It just strikes me as nonsensical. If using nitrous as boost, you don't start by giving the engine a 300 shot then back it down to 100 because it knocked. Why would supercharging work that way? Seems like slowing down the boost bypass valve to ease the boost in would be the sensible thing to lower KR. WOT monitoring visually is like a death wish in my ol turd lol. You only get a second or two to glance and the numbers are on the move plus the thing is hunting for a ditch or oncoming traffic.

left side window is gtp timing. right side stock na timing. you can expect the actual timing to be higher then the numbers shown by 5 more easy.

Your willingness to help bull-headed folks grasp reality is truly a virtue, dude.:th_thumb-up:

I see the difference when load / fuel is applied from your example. Is the knock sensor responsible for all retard, or is some of it written in for certain conditions in a stock tune? I mean if the engine has good gas to eat and doesn't need to retard because theres no knock... does it know and can it offer 0 KR? I am beginning to think that KR is not unlike vacuum advance. Thats the only part of an "analog tune (?)" which by default adds a pile of degrees of advance, then takes them away when the foot is heavy. If I can think of it that way, I might progress.

the knock sensor reads kr, then pulls 3 degrees timing per degree of kr, in a act to save the engine. say your 16 wot timing, then get 4 degrees kr hello 5 degrees timing during the kr. then it falls on its face and stops pulling hard.

the way ive been killing my kr is pretty much maf tune it till the trims look good. then play with the timing, if its got kr pull a degree out up top and see how it goes. all my kr would show up 3400 rpm and up when floored. so pull a degree out and bam its gone.

you can also flood the kr out with fuel, but lean is mean. lol

the more stuff you load on one page the slower they all work. i got one main page o crap, then the rest are all two gauges per page.

stft and ltft,

timing and kr

timing and ltft

I wondered if that had an effect. Sounds logical. I'm leaning towards just blowin some time behind the wheel of the purple one and pushing the education aside for today. Thanks, man.

on the t app, run timing advance and kr only on one page side by side, mind blowing will happen lol

OK yeah I kinda had that look just now! I did and it was. Hmm. I learned something but can't quite word it. The floating relationship between advance and KR reminds me of the one between LT and ST fuel trims, and on the fly it works out so she runs perfect. Almost perfect, so yes headers and all that with a tune... man you got a hottie! The advance curve is just wicked agressive by carb n dizzy standards. More study needed but small aha moment, thanks for that. Seriously though, as a daily driver... I'd get myself in trouble with much more than what I have. Comes from a lifetime of slow stuff.

Felt like I just robbed O'Reilly's... went in with a $5 gift card from their rewards program and bought exactly five bucks worth of brake fluid. So I said reciept or it never happened lol.

I skipped monitoring the GTP this week. That Sunoco gas is addictive though, or so sayeth the GTP anyway. Today I sanded crud off one of the brake rotors that was making noise against the park brake junk or awhile now. No complaints with my DD. Super Betty!

Got a new ins card for the GT today... think I might just call them and switch daily driver to the GT since its renewal time. That would open up some options for me.

The 69 drove great last night as always. That thing is so loud these days that I hesitate to romp it around houses in the country and think twice about firing it up after 10 PM. Getting elderly I reckon. At least we're growing old together. I just can't think of any muffs I'd like to try. Maybe just new glasspacks, I dunno. I sure need a new alt belt. Do they still even make V-belts? Ha.

Last weekend I am fairly certain I saw a fox near the road as I was cruising around. Thats something you don't see every day.

Theres this week in 'junk.

For the lolz and strangeitudes, I shaved today with a blade instead of electric. Thats been many many years since. Feels good. Just got the urge, so there.

Yeah they can't shave like a blade but they sure can scrape like one. I tend to only do it once a week, so that complicates it either way. Shaving is a time burner when theres cars to go fix!
