Saturn is another brand that was mismanaged by GM. In the beginning (1990s) Saturn was like an experiment...that was working, then GM had to tinker with it. Saturn got its own factories, its own parts system, its own everything...the other brands like Buick and Caddy became jelly. When you went to a Saturn dealer...you didn't haggle, the price on the sticker was what you paid. It was sort of like Scion was supposed to be for Toyota but they ****ed that up too. You picked and pieced together all the stuff you wanted a la carte and paid the price. AND IT WORKED. GM got it in their head they knew better and just killed it.
An article came out today about Koenigsegg and their attempt to purchase Saab, they discussed all the things they watched GM do to make sure NOTHING worked out. They did the same **** to Pontiac FYI.
