They do test it. Maybe talk to someone eho knows wtf they're doing. Both autozone and advance and most other parts store test it. I've had plenty tested before. I have a few on the shelf that I've pulled from JY card just in case that I had tested to make sure they're ok.

Yeah they test them.

The guy straight up told me no.

I called other auto zones and they said they did it.

They didn't tell me that it has to be out of the car.

So I pulled it out in the parking lot. They hate me so much. The store closes in 30 min.

That's what they get for telling your that they don't.. Lazy employees.. Now they're going to have to stop what they're doing to test it now...oops

He was like "You didn't just pull that, I have a store to close"

Well the guy fiddled with the machine for 20 minutes and it was giving him problems so he couldn't perform a "quick test".

To perform a full test the coil packs have to be off. I didnt want to be a dick and make him do it again after I took the coil packs off. I told Ill just come back another time.

He told me he was a GM tech and he said usually when these go the misfires aren't isolated to only one cylinder.

How many times did you have them test them.. I have them test fine the first time.. Then tested it 3 more times and failed. I also had a guy that claimed he knew what he was doing.. Test it it passed 2x then on the way home I stop at Advance by my house and had them tested the same one and it failed all 3x....

A little update.

If you haven't seen my other thread, i found the problem.

There was a spacer missing from under the rocker arm. I'm pretty sure I put it in there and I didnt have any left over parts afterwards.

But then again I was working in the dark. I either never installed it or it broke off and the engine ate it or some other unexplained sorcery.
