• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

It's a long story...

My grandfather's health has deteriorated rapidly over the past 6 months. He had a Rav4 I wanted to buy, so I put my GP up for sale on a whim. It sold in less than a week, it was an 06, 67k miles in excellent shape. I got 7.2k for it. I found that getting the Rav4 to me(1500 miles away) was going to be too much money/trouble. So I passed on that deal. Now I'm stuck without a vehicle, missing the only car I've ever been happy with!

I have about 9k to spend on a new car, and after looking at an SRT-4 and a few WRXs(for the money), I can't stop thinking about my GP. The only thing I always wanted in my old car was more power, so now I am in a position to buy a car with a supercharger. So that's why I am here.

What do you think I could get and what years should I look for if I wanted to buy a GTP in good shape and mod it a little? I don't know what I want as far as long term goals..but something quick that I can tow the kids around town in occasionally is about all I need.

How much do GXPs go for? That may be a better option for me, but I'd have to travel a bit, slim pickings here in the car market.

04 05 GTP compG maybe, could get one for about 5 7k, dont let mileage scare u away, then use the rest of the money to mod

What's the argument on gxp vs gtp? My wife is pushing my to get something different but I really enjoyed my GP.

I'm aware of that…lol. Just wondering which of the two would be a better platform from a modding perspective. I don't want an 11 second car, but it'd be nice to have something that was faster than your average vehicle.

Unless you like the idea of pulling the motor to have headwork, a cam, custom headers, porting/polishing, and all other actual bolt on mods that most v8s have but no ability to really put it to the ground, get a GXP. Otherwise GTP FTW. There are a couple with GXPs with turbo kits but the kits are really pricey.

I would look for a 04-05 Comp with decently low miles, under 150k lol and follow the http://www.grandprixforums.net/safely-modding-your-3800-a-67580.html and you will have plenty of power and not break the bank.
