• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

ISP's that FAIL!

Bastard
One thing that completely sucks about living in a smaller town....is that when it comes to an internet service provider, I"m completely limited. It's either dial up :th_thumb-down: or the cable company that we have, Mediacom who by the way, really sucks. I haven't had internet for almost 3 days....and all I get is "sir, we're aware of your problem, but we won't have a tech out there until next week. :th_thumb-down::th_thumb-down::th_thumb-down:

I demand credit on my bill, yadda yadda, but it never comes....they know they have me hosed, and it sucks.

So here I sit, at Panera bread, because it's the only place that has free wi-fi, and drinking coffee. It would almost be heaven for me right now, if it weren't for the damn 14 little packets of sugar I have to use for my large coffee....these little bastards should be outlawed, seruiously....I've never seen anyone just use ONE.

On the bright side, I did get gas today for $1.40, and I actually filled the G6 up to the top with less than $20! :)

d00d that sucks and i hate those lil f*ckin sugar packets...i always get as many as i can and rip as many of them open that i can...usually ending up in a blizzard of sugar all over the the table.

I have the solution for you guys!!! Straight BLACK coffee! Then you never worry about sugar hahaha. Brian I have heard mediacom sux too. We used to know a guy just outside of town that had it and had problems with it also and that was a few years back. We had problems with Comcast-our prior provider with signal a few times and when I called and mentioned it wasnt work I didnt even ask, she credited me for the days of the problems! I was in shock to say the least and sure enough on the next months' bill the credit was there. It is expensive but I get wireless internet from Verizon through my cell phone when we travel a lot so I can keep up with emails and such when we are on the road. It is faster than dial up but nothing to brag about but works great for a backup when the home net is down.

Hell, I have a clear view of the northern, east, and west.

I live out in the sticks, but not too far for cable.
I've called and begged SBC dozens of times for service, but I'm about 500' farther than they recommend for the best service.

LIVE VIA PANERA BREAD!

Sorry dude, see you tomorrow. You can have free reign on my Comcast Cable.

even then, Comcast blows! they bought Insight... and since then it has slowed down.... and then they have weekly tests that last 10min 4 days a week.

I hate them. We ae going satellite here soon. I even asked the Lady for Direct TV's phone number.

Dang! I thought my internet service sucked before I read all this. I guess nightly hick-ups aren't all that bad...

As soon as i saw this i knew who the poster was gunna be LOL.

I live in a small town too far out for cable and we have quest dsl and it has been pretty reliable. I don't think I would go with satellite every time there is more than two clouds in the ski we loose our dish. It sucks when it is raining all day. Anything is better then the 28k modem i used to have in my old Compaq. 10 min internet pages FTW! lol

No....just regular old 87.

They finally got it fixed for the most part last night....but it's not nearly as fast as it was. Hopefully that will get better as the week goes on. I'm just glad to finally be back online again.

Now that I think about it I had some problems with my ISP because we were so far out. They said that they had to slow it down because it would get glitches out here if they didn't. What is your speed? Just wondering if we had the same problem maybe? Mine is 1.5mbs.

Just as i hit post i lost my internet for like 30 min lol. The 1.5 is just the package we bought i am not sure what is connected at most of the time.
