• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

isn't this supposed to be dry??

I have actually heard people going 10,000+ miles on synthetic oil before oil changes, as long as every 1000 miles they replaced the oil filter and added another 1/3 - 1/2 qt of oil. And it draining out still relatively light colored... Just changing it on principle and starting the cycle all over again.

Most people just don't want to get under the car and change out a filter every 1000 miles lol. For your average Joe that is a filter change at least once a month. But it makes a difference, so I am told.

oh, boy! reading materials!

I skimmed through those 4 links, and they refer to sludges. Was that sludge under my covers? It was just dark-coated if I remember correctly. Why are they like that anyway??
the more I search about this, I keep coming into synthetic oils. Is it something I'd consider for the longevity of the engine? Sorry so many questions!
