Is this an IC pump controller? Anyone????

copgtp

Your ClubGP Liason
Bought a Johnson IC pump from a member on this forum, he said he had a "gaggle" of wires also, that he thought were some sort of IC pump controller. I told him to send them and I'll see what I can do with it.

So does anyone have ANY idea about these wires?????

Well, looking at the relay a little closer, in this image:

p1010141v.jpg

There seems to be a wire missing. The yellow / black wires go into the two pin connector, then the black wire comes out, and it seems like another wire is supposed to go their.

So what does this relay system do then? Just make the pump turn on when the car turns on?? Thats it!? What is the difference with my just hot-wiring it to a switched 12V source???

Alrighty, GPONA.com has identified this to possibly be a pump relay, not a controller. I still think having it hooked up this way it better than just hotwiring it. So I've taken some more pictures and hopefully someone here might be able to help in how to install it, here is the context of my post on GPONA

Ahh, okay okay, finally getting some answers here! Now, under further inspection, it seems like the black and yellow wires go to the furthest connection from the relay, and the black wire come out with a ring terminal. Then it looks like their should have been a yellow wire coming out also!? I'm going to take some quick snapshots and post them up. Then we can figure out how to wire this bad boy!

The wires go into the relay, in the order that you see in the pics,

Going clockwise, red (large gauge) top left, pink (small gauge) top right, yellow (large gauge)bottom right, black (small gauge) bottom left

PIN numbers in relay in same order, 30 (top left), 86 (top right), 87 (bottom right), 85 (bottom left)

Boy, this looks familiar... Did you buy this from nvsridez? It's a wbody store wiring kit, I sold him the ic system when I went turbo and bought it from jmebonner on clubgp. I never used the harness and neither did nvsridez.

Here is the original dealing with James:

Hey Jeremy,

The pump is a Johnson pump. I also have a W body store pump relay I'll throw in.

Thanks and lmk,

James
