• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Is the job really worth it?

Any up dates on this I sure hope your getting your cash! Absolutly no excuse for operating a business and not paying the workers.

^That's some good info.

Personally, I can see myself getting into a situation like this. I'm pretty easy going and have a tendency to let people walk all over me.

If you want to continue working at this place then I would be honest with them. I would say "I feel like you have been taking advantage of me and I've had enough of it. I want the wages that you owe me by (date)." and then walk away. That way you wouldn't be threatening them. Hell, they might even respect you for it.

I would give them no more than 2 weeks and if you've made no progress, speak with the labor commissioner. If you wanted to be kind, you could work out a payment plan but not over more than 1 month, and I wouldn't offer it unless they suggest it first.

grey ghost-pmd thanks!

jay GTP- its passed this point but agreed thats how i tried to work it out.

everyone- I'm slowly getting my money back at my own free will. I'm plannin on hanging around till november when they start the background check on my next job then i'll get the labor commissioner involved.... cuz labor board doesn't handle back pay they handle "unfairness" lol i've been through something a little different than this before. i was promised to have my money back before the end of november.... but that's all talk at this point, in november the store will have been open a month! UPDATE!!! I'm owed 3600 after forcing some money to me by taking it from the register!

you don't f*ck with people's money. you just don't. I was pissed because i was trying to go to school full time and work full time, and they scheduled me 6 straight days but the pay period ended in the middle so i didn't get overtime. and then they blamed a missing coffee machine part on me. I told them i was walking out, and the owner was in the next day. i got exactly what i wanted, and that's the way it should be. call them out. you shouldn't have to steal from the register, that could get you into more trouble.

no we count the drawers all the time. but i also installed the cameras and wired the place before they opened. so i can tell if someone is logged into them before i make my move... but that i put down. i tell them "matt took 50 of what he's owed"

well they didn't like that very much. now i'm taking it and not saying anything. kind of under the table.

So...you did more work than the position calls for, and they're still ****ing you. I think you need to take them to court and then beat them with a rusty downpipe.

i was laid off last summer and the owner was a family friend and he got behind over a grand to mee didnt get paid for mounths somtimes. but he eventrually did pay up even after i quit working for him.

ya i got several side jobs coming up but nothing steady goin on.

Confusingboat- I was their electrician when the pay was kept up to date. now i'm a cashier/ ex-assistant manager.

but definitely, friends or not... don't let them fall behind a day. it turns into 6 weeks lol

Dont steal man, worst thing you can do at this point. Just take there asses to court and you will get alot more than a measly 4k lol. You can charge them for damages or some bull****. Just get them in court and it will be game over!

This situation will get alot worse long before, it is over. This employer obviously has experience maniplulating "help". What the HELL do they sell? Is it a PAWN shop or Antique's store, situation?

i never get paid on time either but, hes not in debt with my paychecks. If i were you, i would call up my lawyer and leave that job, and if you cant find another, fill out an un-employment application.

Why don't you put a bug in some other government agencies? Such as the IRS & SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION + State & local tax agencies. If you are not getting paid neither are these agencies. They take a dim view of companies that conduct business this away. They will have more clout than the average person.

JUST A THOUGHT
