• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Is it possible..

To port stock manifolds to flow near orvas much as headers? I have access to some manifolds and I'd like to try to port at least the front one to save buying a p-log when I know my future mods are gonna require headers. If anyone has done a home port job can someone direct me to a thread on it. Haven't researched this topic much. Its an idea im throwing around. Also are the heads on a n/a 3.8 the same as the l67 heads? I can also get a set of heads off of a n/a 3.8 so im wondering if they'd work. It would be nice to do all this head and exhaust porting without having my car tore down for days at a time.

Heads are different.

The little that you can open up the manifold still wont be very much help, but it still does help.

Just look at the design of the PLOG compared to the cast manifold, everything is bigger.

So yes it is possible to open up the manifolds some, but it doesnt help a ton when compared to headers.

All I'd be losing is time porting the front mani cuz its sitting here doing nothing. I'll look at it tom to see how much I can open it up tomorrow. Reason I asked is we're doing a head job on a Buick and I looked at the manifolds while we had them loose and it looks pretty straight forward to port.

to port them how you should you need to add material to the outside of the casting, which means welding.
