?Intercooler Question?

was thinking about gettin a short stack intercooler and maybe some rockers.. not plannin on moddin much more than whats in my sig. as for the intercooler.. does the pump it come with have an on and off switch so i can run it when i need/want it? or is it just always on? its gonna be a daily driver when my other vehicle shells out. i do alot of interstate drivin and the intercooler really isn't necessary while just cruisin.

other question with those rockers.. do they affect driveability or life of the motor in general. my buick with the 3.8 sc has 200k on it and motor runs great.. tranny goin out of it. so i just wanna make sure the grand prix last just as long or longer

thanks in advance
Mike

you need to get it tuned correctly for the intercooler, which will always be "on" I dont think I would try to get it to turn on and off, because it would effect your tune. It will not hurt the longevity of the motor provided it is installed correctly with a good tune. It will help you get to 0* knock, and that will prolong the life of your motor.

rockers won't hurt anything. I run 1.9 yella terra rollers with L76 valve springs. Since the valve springs are oem, and just enough rate for the 1.9's, its alot easier on the valvetrain. Don't waste your money on the ssic, go full size

agreed. the SSIC is a waste of money.

you dont want your pump on a switch. youll forget that its off and run the car hard and blow it up. you want it running anytime the car is running.

there has been some to run the power wire to something that turns on when the car is on the assecery posistion (if it doesent already ???) its benifical at the track if you have a reseviour and fill it with ice to cycle the water thru while in the staging lanes while the car is not running.

so at the same time you could put a togle switch on the power cable to be able to flip it on and off. but i would just run it all the time. there is no ill side effects of running it all the time.
