160 is to cold put a 180 or a 195 in there.

i got my fans tuned to 180 and i have a 195 t stat, temps have been under 195 a lot. even in stop and go traffic.

you dont really want your car running cold, this is not a old school car, it runs off a computer. GM made it to run at 200 to 210 all day long.

I edited my post. Im running a 180 thermostat. Its quite possible he missed programmed my PCM. Cant think of any other reasons why the code keeps comming back

well the t stat could be defective. or its to cold still at 180.

you got a t app? or any other scanner to see the temps?

I am thinking the t stat is defective. I have a areforce scan gauge and i am showing temps 176 and no higher. My old tstat is a 195, should i put that one and just run the 195?

the engine will make more power if it runs colder, but if its cold all the time than it will burn more fuel and the heater wont make as much heat. a new thermostat is literally 10 bucks, but if you want to reuse your old 195, that is your choice.

ive told ya like 5 times easy to change that t stat. they come defective brand new some times. like any part you buy.

if you take it out and its locked open, well by golly you now know its bad. most fail safe in the open position.

Problem solved for now.. no pending check engine and no check engine light. the new t stat I put in was not bad. When I checked my scan gauge nothing comes up
