hi all, i have a question but first a small story to explain where im at.
my 1997 grand prix 3800 series 2 gtp needs a smog.. there is no reason it shouldnt pass. however my cheapy ebay intake wont passs visual and it doesnt have numbers.. so im thinking either i should just buy a k&n intake spend the big bucks but atleast they give you smog numbers? is that right? or i go to picknpull pull a stock air box from another gp.

my question is: do k&n give the numbers for our car will it be able to be smogged?
K$ns are expensive, if i was to go with a stock airbox from pick and pull would any gp airbox work on my gtp? or does it have to be off of another gtp?

note to self: NEVER THROW AWAY YOUR STOCK AIRBOX!
lol
thanks all

california yeah there dumb! lol i had a brilliant idea.. what if i took the air box off my sisters oldsmobile cutlass? the cars are all in the same family right?? im thinking i can borrow her box to pass my car?? her engine isnt a 3.8 tho it may be a 3.1 still a 6cyclinder tho i think

you need one off of a 3.8. unless you can get the air box to look half way decent and not thrown in there cuz you might have that chance where someone there actually knows something about cars and knows its not right. the grand prix gts have 3.8s so no it doesnt have to be a gtp.

i never heard of smog numbers before. thats new to me. so i cant help you there. sorry.
