• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Intake manifold help

When you pulled the lower off....did you tilt it at all? That can allow coolant to go into the motor. Which..would mean a couple oil changes. Otherwise, I'd think you maybe have the LIM gaskets out of place etc. Did you take any pics when you did the work?

Ok. That makes sense and I'm sure I tilted it trying to get it out that first time.

Even this time when I pulled the lim off, the gaskets looked ok and in place. One thing I'm not sure about is the side gasket strips that came with the kit. It had two red colored strips which I fit on no problem. There were also two blue (iirc) pieces that I didn't know how to use.

Here's a picture after I tore it apart the second time.

Search on my screen name and the word e asy w/o any spaces. Then find the first vs second design thread. It'll explain the blue end seals and why you didn't use them.

The only thing I know of that might cause an issue with leaking internally if you didn't dump some coolant in when you lifted the LIM off the engine, would be the little plastic tabs tabs in the gasket that sit right below the coolant ports of the gasket. They should be facing downward into the head to hold the gaskets in place. If they faced up..I could see a possible leak.

The gasket tabs are facing down.

I guess I'll be putting it back together and try to get those elbows on correctly, change the oil, and then work on whatever was causing the surging.

add easy to what ever your looking for, and add his user name as well.

I found it. My search was only in this forum initially. Once I realized that and widened my search, I found it.

(btw, it's you're, not your) :)

I can't type ea sy without spaces in it or the e assssy way to search on my stuff is lost.

Go ahead..correct my grammar. I can change names, posts etc, and I enjoy messing with people...lol

I figured out the "easy" thing and why you did spaces.

It's just the simple mispelled words that great on me. Like to/two/too, your/you're, there/their/they're.

(I'll remember to not call you out on it though.) :)
