Intake and Plugs

So I just did my intake today (bolted a big ass Spectre filter onto the MAF) and installed new plugs, and they were a pain in the mother****ing ass. Is there any "easy" way to do plugs on these damn things?

Btw, the new intake makes my car sound like it's angry and hungry for rice lol.

Remove the extra brackets in the back of the motor (engine hoist and engine cover brackets).

Then stop being a *****, man up and stop whining about a scratch. :th_laugh-lol3:

You could also leverage the motor forward by unhooking the driverside dogbone and using the second hole in the passenger side one to hold the motor.

easy way to do plugs: install headers, remove boot protectors and leave them off.

By boot protectors im assuming you mean the metal ones right????:th_winking:

and thusly install the mesh boot covers to keep them from getting hot from the headers or just leave it be???

I have MSD wires...with headers...I'll prolly get some PRJ's next year because mine are getting kinda junky...just dirty more than anything...a few burns here and there. Never had any issue though.

They are a pain to do the first time because the wires like to seize to the plugs. Once you get them off the first time, put a lot of dielectric grease into the boot and you'll not have any issues next time around. If you are having a hard time getting the plugs out, or even getting to them, then you either have really big arms, or short ones. I have no problem getting to the back plugs and removing them.

I don't need to unhook the dogbones, I don't need to take any covers off, nothing.

Way i've always done it, (with both manifolds and headers) is to just yank the front out, easy enough, and on the rears, go under where the EGR is with a wobble joint and an extension or 2, makes life easy.

then again you may bust the **** out of your hand with the wobble joint....

I can change my plugs in 10 min or less. I dont see whats so hard here? I dont even rotate the engine forward

My plugs had never been done before so they had been on there for 6 years through winters and 130k miles lol. I put lube on the new plugs so I'm assuming I won't have problems next time around. The plugs themselves came out fine, it was just the boots that were being a mother****er.

You'll be fine the next time around. Change them more often :)
