Installing TB screen helped kill KR?

So I have been running without a throttle body screen for a good two years now since I bought a used stg 1 TB that had no screen. Well a few days ago I decided to install the screen from my stock TB to see if I noticed any difference and now I get much less "flash" KR. I use to get flash spikes of up to 6*, now I just get minor blips here and there. Most I have seen since installing the screen is a quick blip of 2* under WOT at a shift point, which went right back down to 0. Weird... :confused:
