Installing Ignition switch, found something odd...

So i finally got to changing my ignition switch and got down to the harness. Then I saw some weird splicing off of it to a few fuses, relays and two black boxes that say "XCRS extreme capacity relay satellite 500m". I did some research and found its a remote start system. I had no knowledge of this even being on the car. Maybe the remote start is giving me the issues? should i try to pull the fuses to it to disable it, could that be my issue? I dont even know what all a remote start taps into so im hesitant to completely remove it. what do you guys suggest?
 


Ok so i sorted through the birds nest of wires and most of it is spliced into the ignition switch harness however some is spliced into another harness that i have no clue what it is. Anyone have a clue what the other harness may be? Any problems with just replacing the ignition switch harness and leaving the other pieces of the remote start intact (still wired to other harness). WTF why is my life complicated....

Now that ive realized this has become a remote start issue, maybe this should be moved to audio and security.
 
I've done remote starts for the last ten years and have yet to see one that was installed properly cause any damage to a ignition switch. If your comfortable enough in doing so you can just follow the wires from the remote start to the main harness and cut it off and tape it up. Do this for all the wires from the remote start at least then you can eliminate any wiring issues. If it is a 2000 or newer it will have a security bypass which makes things more difficult.
 
Its a 2001. After a little tinkering i found its not the remote start thats causing issues. This security Bypass you speak of, any issues with uninstalling? what do i need to know before i start to remove this thing?
 
Depending on what bypass they used they could have tapped into the obd2 connector or tapped into the pass key module wiring.
 
Obd2 doesnt look touched. When i pulled the plastic shroud off the top of the steering column there was a wire "loop" that was around the key/ignition right next to the passkey box. the loop cable ran down to a black box near the rest of remote start boxes. Is that it?
 


Yeah they used a transponder bypass. If u follow that wire down the bypass itself should have an extra key in it that you can take out.
 
Cool. As far as the other small harness they tapped into, anyone have any ideas? Should I take a few pics? I really just want to make sure I do this right and don't hack something up
