Im trying to get the rear deck out to remove the old stock 6x9's so that I can put my new Alpine's in. Are the procedures to remove them from my '08 GP the same as the instructions on the '05 write up that is in this forum as well? Also I have a 600watt amp and 2-10" JL subs that will be hooked up in the near future to my stock HU. Any info would be great. Thanks.

I would guess it is probably the same procedure but honestly dont know. try it and see if u can get where u need to be to swap them. As far as hooking up subs and an amp to your stock head unit you will need to go to best buy, abc, wal-mart or somewhere that has car audio stuff and purchase what is referred to as a line output converter. This will go inline with your speakers behind your head unit. it turns those signals into an output signal for your amplifier. This signal is run with a set of rcas to the amp. Your stock stereo almost definitely doesn't have these outputs unless you have some extra features then it might. in which case u would only need a set of y connectors instead. but most likely u need the converter. U will also have to find a keyed power source to tap into to run a remote wire for your amplifier. most hook into the switched 12v in the actual stereo harness so that the amp is only on when the stereo is on. Hope that helps.

Yah I already priced that line out converter at best buy, its only 25 bucks, the installation is whats going to kill me!!

Yay, got my Adjustable Line Output Converter from bestbuy and according to the instructions it looks like I can hook it up back in the trunk and so I dont have to tear my console apart, (although eventually I will when i hook up my amp). From another post I now know how to hook up my power cable from the battery to the trunk to my amp. Theres a rubber grommet on the passenger side that I can run the power cable through, just have to feed it under the door trim and such, but that should be pretty easy. From what all I have read from I should be able to hook my system up myself. My only concern is do I have to tear the console apart so that when I shut my car off the amp turns off and doesnt drain my battery. I know there are a lot of questions here but any help will help me in turn...also I wont have to pay someone else to do it.
