Yeah i posted a thread on here a month or two ago about my gtp having bottom end knock. Well ive decided to part the car out. Selling what i can and then scrapping the rest i guess. But my question is hypothetically is it possible my topend is not damaged? I think i could make a good bit of money back selling like a supercharger conversion to someone with a n/a 3.8. Im far from a mechanic and just wondering if that would be a possibility Thanks

If you have bottom end knock, the crank, rods and pistons would be about the only things damaged or unusable.

So whats listed above is only whats needed for the conversion over? What would be the price you would expect to pay for all this. I guess i will only be selling locally ( well the heavy stuff any way) to avoid hassle w/ shipping. So i want want to charge fair prices so i can get my money back quick. So any help w/ that is appreciated

There's more to it than just the heads/lim/blower. Search for "top swap faq" there's a thread that will tell you everything needed for it. That way you'll know what to keep and what to scrap.

Thanks Ill do my research. 600 be a good price? Paid 2k for the car and am hoping to get that back. I think i can easily but i want to do it quick. Gotta pay off the ss s10 i just bought. I hate having debt

Mileage and part condition will play a big part in a part-out, and it won't all sell as quick as it sounds like you're hoping it will.

Why not put a new shortblock in it and sell it whole? My local junkyard sells complete engines for $200 with a $50 core. A day of labor and $250 + fluids to sell it all at once beats the hell out of spending the time to part out.

Actually my idea of quick is in maybe 6 months. Its in great condition except for the obvious motor problems. It has 136k. It has a full borla exhaust w/ slp headers and cai. Nice wheels w/ tires less than 2k. Ported TB and supercharger. Black leather interior and kenwood cd player. Well thats the kinda stuff on it Id like to sell. I know trying to sell every window motor and odd and ends like that will take a while. So im probably not going to mess w/ any of that. I like your idea about sticking a na motor but everyone around here is so ****ty when it comes to prices and service. But im going to look into it. But if i could do that for those prices, I believe id top swap it and keep
