2007 GXP Monsoon.

Anyone have experience with http://www.crutchfield.com/p_108R9620CX/Infinity-Reference-REF-9620cx.html?tp=106 ?

I'd like to keep 6x9 rears to not have to make an adapter for a 6 3/4" rounds.

Currently have 4 ohm Alpine S installed and while I love the bass it makes, not being able to wire in the mids and highs takes a lot out of the stage.

In theory I should be able to separate the 4 way plug from the monsoon into the bass and tweeter respectively. I'd keep the crossovers for future upgrades to the system.

Any thoughts on this? I wasn't able find any posts regarding using components with the monsoon, just people either bypassing it or chopping the crossover out of coaxial speakers.

In theory that should work by splitting the monsoon harness, if the impedance is correct. But if you already have nicer 6x9's why not just buy some tweeters and separate the output?
 
The 6x9s I have are 4ohm, the response is better, but not great. So they are double resistance of the factory.
