Inferno hood with short ram intake

I drive a 2004 GT2,
I've upgraded my plugs - wires and I feel the next step is upgrading my intake. I'm looking into the K & N short ram intake and my question is, If i get the inferno hood, will the air coming in from the slots go into the intake and make it somewhat cold air intake? or would it help the intake at all?

If the short ram isnt the way to go anyone have suggestion (links)

P.S. are there any aftermarket (different style) headlights for the 04 + grand prix's?

Correct if if I am wrong but the inferno hood has both functional ram air and heat vents. It should help cool intake temps as well as underhood temps. Go for it if you want.

make your own intake for 1/3 of the price and it will outperform all of the intakes you have mentioned.

29.95 and 5 minutes to instal lol

so basically all i need is some type of rubber grommet and a filter, with some hose clamps... what about the sensor(s) just stick it in the grommet? I'm sure i seen a wire or two in my stock intake.

I dont think yours is this easy today you have a separate maf from mine mines in the tb but you can do simular
If you search around on here theres a few 04+ that have built a intake

wow whats up with that one with 3 filters kinda weird .... the other box is the SLP CAI... I have one on my '00 GT it for $25 probably not the greatest but i does its job.

alright i took the advice of making my own and came up with this. I started off making a short ram... from using my synthetic AEM cleanable filter off my 92 saturn.... then I decided why not cut my saturn's intake pipe and see if i cant make something work. The filter is basically sitting upside down behind the splash guard and sounds wicked!!

My problem is, what happens when it rains?

and where do i put that heat sink looking thing, that used to be in the filter box?

a) get another coupler and take out that corrugated tubing, that is the restrictive part of the intake.

b) that 'heat sink looking thing' is the PCM/ECM/ECU/etc. it can just sit there if you want, but feel free to tie it down somehow or buy a PCM tray if you want.

c) being all the way in the fender like that isnt the best option (too many bends, exposed to weather, etc). youd be just as well off getting the filter close to the fender hole and being done.

the corrugated tube has an air tube going from it to the engine, that's why i kept it there.... but then again if you look on the right side of the chrome pipe, you can see a hose clamp and a red hose( to block a hole i kinked the old hose and clamped it like that) I suppose i could use that, for the tube going to the engine.
thanks for all the advice guys Much appreciated
