in-line amp wire fuse holder set screws

So my in-line fuse holder to my AMP has lil set screws in which you use an allen wrench to screw down and make electrical contact with the power wire. i just noticed yesterday that my power wire is pretty loose and not sitting tight in the fuse holder like it is. ive been getting a lil static lately that ive never gotter before from my tweeters and 6.5"s/mids so im thinking this weak connection may be contributing to if not causing the static issue.

Thinking about buying some allen head set screws that are a lil longer to make a better contact. Only problem is that I cant find no one who sells them locally and the internet acts like im typing in some foriegn word or something.

Any ideas or suggestions of where I could buy these lil set screws to hold down the wire firmly?

If it were me, I would replace the power wire completely.

I don't see any reason you couldn't use a phillips or flat head screw instead of an allen...
 
I would think that your local True Value or Ace hardware store will have what you are looking for.
 
If you can't find what your looking for in screws, I'd look for a smaller fuse holder. But try fastenal they'll have what your looking for. Good luck.
 
And any noise is usally a ground problem, but it can happen with weak connections, either get a new kit or buy a new fuse block holder.
 


well, i could use anything that fits to screw them in but theyre specifically designed to be tighten down with an allen(6mm i believe). but the screws are fully extended, it use to fit firmly but now its loose like theres no conection at all. honestly, i wanna change the power wire anyway but im tryna keep a lil money in my pocket for awhile bc Xmas just killed my pockets
 
I'm assuming that the screws are metal and the fuse casing is plastic. Over time, with a lot of use, and probably some overtightening, the plastic will expand and need to be replaced to get a tight fit.

Alternately, you could use loctite, but thats probably going to be more of a bandaid than a real fix.
 
Yeah, the lil screws are like metal or stainless steel, I was looking for a better conducting socket set screw(preferably Copper since the screws are in direct contact with the AMP Power Wire itself)...Cant find any, best conducting/least resisting one I found was BRASS from Fastenal

I do plan on installing a new fuse holder probaly this weekend...
 
My AMP is plenty(ZAPCO DC650.6 6channel)...And I just bought a [h=1]JL Audio XB-MFBU-ANL Master ANL Fuse Block for 4 AWG to 1/0 AWG Power Wire with 25 Wire Entry/Exit Options[/h]AND a JL Audio XB-ANL150 ANL Blade Fuse: 150 Amp

I Already had an ANL EFX fuse holder and EFX 150 amp fuse, the holder just had got ****ed up.....

You think my AMP is ****ty or you think it'll be better to buy another AMP?
