Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

how on earth do you change the rear plugs!? I have a 04 gtp and just looked at it really, cause i've only had it 3 weeks. Can anyone tell me how to do this or do i have to pray for Mr.Goodwrench to float down and do it:th_laugh-lol3:

remove upper motor mounts rock engine forward and put the bolt on the left motor mount in the hole closest to the intake.... change plugs

Correct. 15MM ratchet and box end wrench to remove them. You may have to grab the blower to rock the engine a bit to remove and reinstall the bolts.

We did plugs on an 04 GTP this weekend. Piece of cake.

fwiw I bought this tool take comes in handy, especially for the price. Amazon.com: Lisle Engine Tilter: Automotive

Something that no one ever mentions is setting the e-brake and putting the car in neutral before tilting the engine. The two tilter tools that I've seen, both recommend doing this on the GM FWD vehicles. One of the tilters has a warning label on the tool itself.

The way I do it, you leave it in park, rock the car forward, and set the e-brake when the engine is tilted as far forward as it will go. Usually about has the front manifold against the fans.

I moved the motor the first time, but after that, you just learn how to snake your arm back there, after I remove my STB, it takes maybe 5 - 15min(sometimes I remove th O2. sometimes I don't) for me to do all 3 back plugs

Yeah, I don't touch the mounts anymore, nor the STB. I can just get my hands and a ratchet back there, remove the plugs, and put the new ones in in about 20 minutes. Not hard at all....

I have only had to rock 1 engine to change plugs (lumina 3.4 with intake over them) there is a ton of room on th gp to get back there (did an '04 the other day)

yous guys must have pencil arms, i tell ya... i have to rock the motor forward, but i just remove the motor mounts and use a ratchet strap from the engine lift point to my garage wall to tilt it...

my friend who weighs 275 can reach all my plugs. I have over a foot of clearance to get through (you can't go straight down of course)

I donno why people complain about the plugs on these cars. Hell I have an IC and a STB and there still cake! Try changing plugs on a 4th Gen F-body, you'll be thankful for changing plugs on a GP...

So true!

It's not that hard for me to reach. The killer is getting my torque wrench back there and making sure they're torque right. I torque everything in my engine bay every time. Good maintenance practice.

I hooked a ratchet strap to the back, and wrapped it around the front of the car. Pulled them fine on my Imp and GP. No worries. The Haynes manual makes it sound scarier than it is. They call it "Rotating the engine."

don't know that moving the engine stuff doesn't sound too safe........i mean does it "rock" back into place exactly like it was?

heres how i do mine

Yep. Then you just gotta tweak it a bit to line it up to the dog bones. By tweak I mean physically grabbing the top of it and pushing or pulling it that quarter of an inch. ;)
