Impala -> GTP instrument cluster swap

I took a ride in a friend of mine's car, (impala 2002 or 2003) and noticed his instrument cluster is way nicer looking than the one in my car (1999 GTP). My question is "Is it feasable or even possible to swap the instrument cluster from an '02 impala into a '99 GTP?" Cause man, does it look sweet comparetivly. The impala has a digital display at the bottom for the gear selector, as well as gauges for volts and oil pressure I beleive. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I beleive the cluster is the same size and shape, but I will take a closer look next time we hang out. I do know he has some extra gauges in his cluster, along with a digital display that shows what gear the shifter is in. I tried to find a picture of it but the impala dashs I saw in a google image search only have fuel, speed and tach. His car is some odd LS Sport Package I beleive. Its an impala but the shifter is on the floor rather than the steering column

that cluster wont work, the rpm and mph are on opposite sides...stick with one off a grand prix, you can also buy like faceplates on ebay

A faceplate would look silly, but an aftermarket gauge cluster, or one out of a Limited would be BA

That 9c1 is exactly the same layout as the one in my buddies car. His has a nice looking, and real subtle background pattern around the gauges but that is the exact cluster he has. His is a floor shifter though and not cop car. 9c1 is the cop car code right? I massivly appreciate the help as far as locking down what to call the cluster though lol. Its a pain in the butt to try and just describe it. So putting a 9c1 cluster in a GP, is it difficult or just not even realisticly possible for the average shade-tree mechanic type?

the speedometer is in the dead center on the impala gauges, not even on a side...

position of the gauges is not a concern. the board is fully electrical so i dont see why not with a little wiring, you couldnt make it work. the difficult part would be the info center and odometer since its digi and all... but i have been contemplating the same idea since i had my cop car and putting one in a gp... nothing like trial and error right? i think the next time i hit up the boneyard ill see if i can get an impala one to physically fit into the gp dash and if so, ill probably pick it up and see what i can do. if successful ill make a writeup.

The odo should be the only REAL concern, only reason I pointed out that the gauge was in the dead center was because someone else mention that they were reverse the GPs. I know it doesn't make a difference. The message/display center shouldn't matter, cause anything that appears on there would be irrelevant in the GP anyway. We have our DIC, and there is no "manual" message center on our gauges. It'd be a step to skip and you'd never notice a difference.

The other concern I can see (if you REALLY want it) is the shifter positioning.
Also fitment shouldn't be a problem, I remember a thread with someone putting a MUCH different cluster in their vehicle, so shape is irrelevant, you can fill that in with whatever, and I doubt the Imapala cluster is big enough to be a problem.

Waiting for the write up cuz I wanna do this also if its possible..
Never understood why the gtp never came with volt and oil pressure?!?! Never liked dummy lights for oil pressure to begin with and running a pretty demanding sound system I would like to see my voltage also.

Impala didn't either, that's only in the cop models.
