Immobilizer bypass in a 97

Jomamma

pssssshhhhhhtt
Okay, I'm getting a viper remote starter installed as we speak.

Does the 97 GTP require a immobilizer bypass module?

I don't want to pay for something I don't need.

I've Installed them for over 10yrs now on a daily basis. Thousands lol

Yeah I didn't need it.

Best buy tech guy thought I did.

It sucks that I have to use the old remote to open the tunk. Also no horn signal or panic on the new remote.

I love the range and warm car though...

They didn't I stall it right if it doesn't pop your trunk..

Two ways off getting it on the 97-03 models. Wire in a relay to throw the positive needed or use the negative trigger output from the viper to trigger the factory relay...

Honestly sorry you went to a high box store especially if he couldn't figure out that most basic feature.

Also if it's a viper alarm and remote start it should have a horn trigger for panic. For some reason directed didnt put horn trigger on viper rs, but do on the rest of their subsidiary lines like python and Clifford

Yeah I called the guy back a few hours ago and said something about the horn and trunk.

He said the trunk would require 2 relays.(phhh..extra 60 bucks) And the horn trigger wire was located behind the airbag, and they "didn't do that anymore" because of the danger of airbags deploying.

First off. It's a black wire coming down the column for horn he's a moron. Don't even have to touch the steering wheel.

Trunk requires 1 or no relays depending on the way the installer chooses to do it.

Noobs.

I could probably walk you through hooking it up without a relay if you think you can do it

I'd probably do it myself. I'm pretty handy with electronics studying eet and all.

Would the unit need to be programmed for panic and the trunk?
