I just got an 99' Grand Prix GTP Supercharged SE V6 3.8 ..so far I love it.. :D Joined here to learn about mods and to troubleshoot if needed. I bought it in mild condition about 2 days ago....but so far it runs good and no transmission problems. But want to get it back into nice condition! It came with red leds under the driver and passenger dash. (yes I know muffler tip is missing) Names Keith. I also just rebuilt a 2001 Kawasaki Ninja 250, and sold a v6 94 Camaro.:th_thumbsup-wink:

What I need to fix before mods (suggestions are appreciated) just got car wednesday..

My TCS doesnt work...no idea why
...
Passenger door doesnt lock...no idea why ~~~~~~~~~~~~1st thing i need to fix!! Help appreciated!~~~~~~~~
Details. -> Wont lock by button or by hand! When I try by hand it snaps right back to unlocked position.

Drivers door panel leather part is coming off
Passenger rear window button on drivers door is backward (press down window goes up, press up window goes down) doesnt bother me might not even mess with it.

My Mods im going to get over time...

Rear View Camera -> Whoever owned car before me took off rearview mirror. But I think rearview cameras are cool anyways
Replace Worn Control Bottons On Doors and heat/ac buttons -> Driving me crazy looks horrible, and i still dont know what the buttons are underneath the ac buttons next to mode lmao
Stereo Tv/DVD Deck With Nav & Bluetooth -> Stock is horrible as in any car

Replace Headlights -> I literally never know when my headlights are on unless theyre refecting off the car in front of me, they are horrible.. replacing with White/Red Halo's
Remote Start
Flowmaster Exhaust
Red Brake Caliper Covers

Yeah I dont like the hood either but I just got it wednesday so havent done anything to it yet. And im getting my own emblems, I dont like the ones with GTP on them. Starting tomorrow! :th_king-evil:

Obiviously you'll need to take care of this to protect your investment, lol. Switch may be bad for door lock, shorted... I'd start there.

Door panels come off easy, but those little platic retainers break every single time. They can be had cheap, so no worries there. Thing is obviously the switch was taken out at one time... Hmmm... Related to problem #1?

Stereo is always my first thing I do to any car I've had... The buttons can be had cheap, new, or junkyard scramble and you might get lucky. Save the exhaust for when you know exactly what you are going to do mechanically with the car, if anything. Money would be better spent on headers, the back side of exhaust is good through plenty of HP, that would be my first mod to the engine.

All just my $.02, Welcome here and GLW the car!

Yeah lol, but no its not the switch because when I do it by hand it snaps right back into unlocked mode as soon as I let off of the actual unlock/lock button thing under the doorhandle.

As far as the exhaust goes I have to get it anyways, one of my muffler tips/end pipes are missing. Might as well get it out of the way. Im not doing anything mechanically to the car until I get another. and thanks!
